JGM Shines on the Podium at Round 1!

Jess Golding Motorsport (JGM) drivers made a stellar debut to their Championship season in the team’s new Arrow X6.2 chassis at Round 1 of the Ipswich Kart Club Championship held over the weekend.

The highlight of the event was the impressive performance of Sebastian Di Salvo, securing JGM's first podium of the season with a well-fought 3rd place finish in the final race. Di Salvo demonstrated calm maturity on the track, marking a promising start to his championship campaign in the TaG Restricted Medium category.

JGM entered three drivers in the highly competitive KA3 Senior category for Round 1. Hamilton Rae, JGM’s newest signing, set the 4th fastest time in the final and showcased great speed and potential. Despite a minor mistake early in the race that cost him multiple positions on the track, Rae's promising performance will solidify him as one to watch this season.

Matt Price’s ongoing commitment to learning and adapting to a new class paid off, as he not only finished every race but also accumulated valuable points toward his championship campaign. In his first-ever senior race, Lucas Lesmes delivered a standout performance by securing the team a top-10 place in a classy field of drivers. Lesmes, who won the KA3 Junior Heavy Championship in 2023 at Ipswich, has his sights set on another solid year with JGM.

KA3 Junior Heavy driver Will Carmichael showcased his hard-charging spirit throughout all races and brought home another impressive top-10 finish for the team (6th place finish in the final). His resilience and determination were evident all weekend as he navigated the competitive field with skill and precision.

Despite a rollover early in Heat 2, Johnny Wright (KA3 Junior Light) exhibited exceptional speed, setting a top-10 running pace early. Undeterred, Wright displayed true sportsmanship by participating in the next heat but chose to withdraw from the final, prioritizing safety and his recovery.

Jess Golding Motorsport looks forward to building on this successful start as the season progresses. The team expresses sincere gratitude to its partners, supporters, and the Ipswich Kart Club for a well-organized event.
