Jess Golding Motorsport – Ipswich Kart Club Round 4 Race Report
Jess Golding Motorsport proved their mettle at Round 4 of the Ipswich Kart Club Championship, with promising results from their team drivers at the Open Performance Titles last weekend.
Oliver Jones, Olivia Walton, and Matt Price celebrated a significant milestone in their karting careers this weekend racing off their P plates for the first time.
KA3 Junior Heavy driver Lucas Lesmes had a dream run throughout the day, winning all three heats. Starting P1 in the final, he was pushed back to 6th on the first lap as the man to beat. He fought back to cross the line in 3rd place, setting his sights on the championship lead.
Cadet 12 driver Xavier Knight had impressive pace all day, but unfortunately did not finish the final, dealing a blow to his 2023 Championship campaign. However, with his never-give-up attitude, there is no doubt that he will come back stronger at the next round.
Alistair Leggatt had a fantastic final, starting from P29 and crossing the line in P18 after 10 laps of intense racing. Despite some bad luck during the heats, he showed his determination and resilience on the track in the final and that is what we like to see!
In an extremely competitive 40 kart KA3 Junior Light field, Nash Peirano delivered a solid performance, culminating in his best result to date in the final he is starting to demonstrate his ability to rise to the occasion amidst tough competition.
TaG Restricted Light driver Matt Price was in the thick of it all day, holding his own in a solid field of drivers. He crossed the line just outside the top 10 banking solid points towards his first IKC Club Championship campaign.
